Dr. Esther Choo, MSNBC health columnist and professor at the Oregon Heath & Science University, wants to cancel your holidays.

On Wednesday, Dr. Choo, gave her thoughts on respiratory illnesses such as RSV & COVID-19. She proposes to cancel Thanksgiving, “for so many reasons” (whatever that means), move other winter holidays (can’t say Christmas apparently) to the summer with big outdoor events. Dr. Choo wants your winter to be full of hygge, books and Netflix.

Needless to say, she received a ton of backlash for her Tweet. She has since locked down her Twitter account to followers only.

Additionally, according to Dr. Choo, the benefits of Summer Holidays include the lack of “bad holiday-themed sweaters,” the avoidance of snowed-in winter holiday travel, and you don’t have to “endure” Thanksgiving.

May I suggest we cancel “public health” tyrants instead? https://t.co/Sayq5XGQyQ

Yes we need more misogynistic doctors telling us all how to live our lives. https://t.co/wznS8LVg9E

Dr. Choo is clearly a health tyrant. Some believe she was joking but they were not joking in 2020 when The Atlantic wanted to cancel Thanksgiving and they are not joking now.

Are we going to let her cancel the holidays?

Happy Thanksgiving, Twitter peeps! Don't do this. Don't take this advice. Don't cancel holidays and times with your loved ones. Give hugs. Laugh. Connect. Spend as much time with the people you love as you can. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. You were given one life-LIVE IT

@choo_ek May I suggest you leave everyone alone? Cancel holidays? Who do you people think you are?

@choo_ek I'm sorry you don't like your family, it's clear the feeling is mutual. There are very obvious reasons why we have these holidays in winter. We're not going to give up our traditions and upend our culture because it's more convenient for you.

It amazes me the way people like this think. Whether it's history, tradition or even the pesky truth, they feel they can just rewrite anything that gets in the way of their agenda. It's like the toddler who wants to change the rules so they will win. It's amusing on a toddler, but on an adult it's strange and dangerous
